I so enjoy Ridley Scott films (they make me feel like a man). This resurrection (no pun intended) of the Alien franchise maintains the female hero. And, to expand upon the feminist narrative carried throughout these films, the film attributes (via ancient alien theory) the underpinnings of our patriarchal tendency toward world domination/demise with a buffed humanoid race of men. To boot, while the Alien designed by H.R. Giger, and made famous by the the Alien film franchise is herself a female, we learn in Prometheus that she was birthed from the corpse of one of our humanoid forefathers. This is particularly special because it provides a fantasy scenario of what women would be like if Eve had actually been created from one of Adam’s ribs. Brava sir Scott, Brava.
…oh, it was a good good film.
